tick tock and treat

Every day is for dress-up. Never before did the concept of annual mass-costuming on a pre-determined date seem liberating to me. Since I’ve been old enough to be on the other side of the door, handing out the candy and not counting it, Halloween activities have repeatedly been over-hyped, more stressful then spooky, and less exciting then gaining an extra hour falling back.

This year was a pleasant change. Unexpectedly mild temperatures gave the evening a laid-back essence; everything is better sans parka. Harboring low expectations and draped in a bed sheet I set out ready to come home early. Little did I know that Halloween would charm me so . . .

can you guess who's who and what's what?

model citizen

One dresser for every model and Taryn Davidson was all mine.
Ethereally beautiful and oh so sweet, would you believe she has small feet?

lara! everybody missed you... we had a supplementary Vincent backstage to tide us over, sibling senior and everybodys favortie camera man tagged along to take some photos. See a sample of skilled works below.

did you hear? bums are making a comeback.

all in a week's work

As Toronto Fashion Week comes to an end, I must say, it was wonderful to see you after so long, drink bad coffee and have you turn my parenthesis into commas and magically make it make sense. You are the best company in the cold, and tuck a tie in so well, and thanks to you for giving me the gig.

now everybody get some sleep and soak your feet.

Photo below: Q & A between Adrian Mainella (Fashion File) and
Tyler Brûle (the man behind the influential and awesome Wallpaper magazine)

Q : Which one is a Winnipeger?

A: magnificent magazine founder

Part of the week's purpose is to remind us of our homegrown talents. Shake out some of that self-hating Canadian attitude that follows electing a conservative leader and consuming too much maple syrup.

One of my new favorties from the week - morales

a scrap book of sorts

We are two best friends: Sarah and Lara.

We have been collaging together since we were in kindergarten. From hilroy to apple, the medium has changed but the message remains the same.

We get by with a little help from our friends,
