Roxy Music

This is the first artwork ever designed for Roxy Music. It was printed on satin and drawn by Malcolm Bird.

He is also responsible for this neat drawing. At one point he was employed by Barbara Hulanicki as a pattern cutter and colourist. Where he supplied illustrations like the one below and designed the children's department in one of her shops.
Barbara Hulanick was the founder of BIBA in 1964 which at the time was a small fashion boutique in west London. As the name grew so did the fans including Brigitte Bardot, Raquel Welch, Twiggy, Yoko Ono, Sonny and Cher, Mick and Bianca Jagger, Anita Pallenberg and Jack Nicholson, Freddie Mercury, Lou Reed, your getting the idea.

The famous editor-in-chief of American Vogue Anna Wintour once worked as a shop girl at the BIBA boutique. In 1975 the London shop closed and the label went bankrupt. Tear.
BIBA relaunched at London Fashion Week 2006 under designer Bella Freud. The new styles made it into the hearts and closets of many young fashionable girls. Case in point.
But enough about that, back to the music.

Roxy music was also featured in Lost in Translation.
You just know Bill is into it.

We have been collaging together since we were in kindergarten. From hilroy to apple, the medium has changed but the message remains the same.

We get by with a little help from our friends,
